At the beginning of the year, we celebrated our 4th consecutive WorldStar Award, received for the recyclable packaging solutions we developed for our partner Lincoln & York in the UK. Now, we proudly announce that this recyclable coffee film range has also won the prestigious President’s Award, the highest category of the international packaging contest, rewarding the best of the best among all WorldStar Winners.
Our flexible packaging solutions were selected by the President of the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and won the Bronze Award thanks to their unique packaging design, which combines high-protective properties, packaging aesthetics and high performance with recyclability.
We are particularly proud of this outstanding achievement, which rewards our joint efforts together with our partner Lincoln & York and our strong commitment to packaging innovation and sustainability.

OUR AWARDED RECYCLABLE FILMS
In partnership with the coffee roaster Lincoln & York, last year we brought to the UK market an innovative, all-PE recyclable coffee packaging range.
The high-barrier packaging films were designed to keep the roasted coffee fresh and to preserve its delicate aroma & flavor. Based on the Hatzopoulos X-CYCLE PE concept, the final films are suitable for recycling through the recycling stream in the UK for polyethylene. Available in different designs and formats – 1kg through to 250g retail bags & single coffee bags -, the new Lincoln & York coffee range carries a clear environmental claim, in line with the roaster’s CSR strategy, which is detailed on their website www.lincolnandyork.com.
In addition to their improved environmental metrics compared to conventional coffee laminates, these packaging films can achieve high performance rates at various packaging machines and 100% compatibility with common degassing valves. The final packs’ matt look, proper stiffness and resistance to puncture give them the perfect look & format to attract and appeal to brands that are looking to connect with today’s busy, demanding and environmentally-conscious, consumer.
