A. Hatzopoulos S.A. at the Risk & Compliance Forum 2026

A. Hatzopoulos S.A. participated in the “Risk & Compliance Forum 2026” organized by ICAP CRIF on May 19 at The Met Hotel in Thessaloniki, with the company’s CEO, Mr. Argyrios Tsaknis, serving as a speaker in the main panel discussion titled: “Risk as Opportunity: Building Resilience in Volatile Times”

During the discussion, Mr. Tsaknis highlighted the major changes introduced by the new European PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) regarding the recyclability of plastic packaging, emphasizing that A. Hatzopoulos S.A. already complies with the relevant product criteria, despite the recyclability requirements officially coming into effect in 2030.

As he noted, the transition toward more sustainable packaging solutions is not viewed by the company merely as a regulatory obligation, but as a significant business opportunity for growth in new markets and further innovation.

Special reference was also made to the company’s newly established R&D Center, which provides state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and advanced capabilities to the scientific and development teams of A. Hatzopoulos S.A., supporting the continuous creation of innovative and technologically advanced packaging solutions.

Mr. Tsaknis also addressed the challenges arising from current geopolitical developments, stressing that the company has proactively and transparently informed customers about expected changes regarding pricing and deliveries from the very beginning.

At the same time, he underlined that A. Hatzopoulos faces no supply adequacy issues, thanks to the long-standing relationships of trust the company has built with its strategic suppliers worldwide.

In closing, he emphasized that every crisis can also become an opportunity, not for short-term profit, but to demonstrate the stability, reliability, and sustainable growth of a company that proudly celebrates 95 years of continuous operation this year.
