A. Hatzopoulos S.A. commits to set science-based targets towards the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
We are thrilled to announce that A. Hatzopoulos S.A. has achieved a significant milestone by becoming officially registered in the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This partnership underscores our commitment to addressing climate change through scientifically verified strategies.
The SBTi is a collaborative effort aiming to drive ambitious corporate climate action by setting scientifically grounded emission reduction targets and providing a framework for companies to set targets that align with the goals of the Paris Agreement. We acknowledge the pressing necessity for significant reductions in emissions to constrain the global temperature increase to 1.5°C, and we are dedicated to fulfilling our role in accomplishing this objective.
As part of our membership in SBTi, we will be working diligently to establish ambitious, science-based targets for reducing our carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, using 2019 as the reference year. We are committed to setting a near-term target for 2030, that will signify an important reduction in emissions, as well as a net-zero target for 2050.
By aligning A. Hatzopoulos S.A.’s efforts with the SBTi, we aim to play a proactive role in combating climate change, ensuring that our business operations are in harmony with global sustainability objectives. This collaboration reaffirms our dedication to environmental responsibility and highlights our determination to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
