The annual Car-Free Day is organised by the European Commission as part of the European Mobility Week, which takes place from 16 to 22 September each year. The campaign seeks to improve quality of life through promoting clean mobility and sustainable urban transport and gives people the chance to experiment with practical solutions to tackle urban challenges, such as air pollution. This year’s campaign put the spotlight on safe walking and cycling and the benefits it can have for our health and the environment.
As part of our efforts to raise awareness on the adoption of sustainable practices also in our people’s daily lives, our company organized and sponsored a bicycle draw for the children of our employees. The five bicycles, along with their safety equipement, were given to our people’s families at the educational traffic park of Thessaloniki. With this initiative, we celebrated this year’s Mobility Week and Car-Free Day, by encouraging the development of environmental morale to the next generation.
